Frequently Asked Questions
How do delivery Holds Work?
Each member can place a delivery hold and receive make-up shares twice per season. Any additional holds will not receive make-up shares.
Once logged in to your account on the website select the tab titled “Delivery Hold” input the dates you will be out of town or unable to pickup your share, and select “save”. Your shares will be held for that time period and double deliveries or make up shares will be automatically scheduled for your next delivery day. If you would like to reschedule your double delivery for a different week, or simply donate it instead of receiving a double delivery please contact the farm office via email at helsingfarm@gmail.com
How do I change my pickup location or add other shares?
Log in to your account on the website, and from the first tab titled “Overview” you will see a box on the right hand side of the page showing the date of your next delivery, your pick-up site and your subscription. By selecting either permanent or next delivery, you can change your pick up location. A list will show up on the page of our different locations.
If you would like to add a subscription during the season such as a canning share, storage or cheese share, select the “add” button next to subscription to see a list of available full-season veggie shares, select “next” at the top of that page to see a list of add-on options.
What should i do if I won’t be able to pickup my box during the Delivery window?
Our delivery truck leaves the farm by 8am, if it is after that time on your delivery day and you realize you will not be able to pickup your box on time or at all. Please contact your drop site host first. Their contact information can be found by logging into your account on the website and selecting the “pick up directions” tab. Let them know so they can plan to donate the items or so that you can possibly setup an alternative pickup time.
Do I need to return the CSA boxes?
Yes, we do ask that each week you return the box your CSA was delivered in so that it can be used again. Please do not return twist ties, rubber bands, or paper containers. We cannot reuse those. Please flatten the box when you return it by unfolding the tabs on the bottom carefully so that it is not damaged and we can reuse it.
The first and most important thing we ask is that you please do not open other types of shares or look for missing items in other members’ boxes. A clipboard will be available with a list of members assigned to that site. If your name is not listed, or there are no more shares of the type you are meant to pick up that day, please email the farm at helsingfarm@gmail.com and do not take anything from the drop site. We will do our best to help locate or replace it.
What do I do if I can’t find my box?
Yes, you can send someone to pickup for you, however we ask that you share some important pieces of information with them first to avoid common mistakes. Let them know exactly which shares to pick up for you including the description of what they look like since they will not be labeled. We also ask that they are instructed to find the clipboard and list provided at each location to confirm which shares are there for you that day, then check the box next to your name to confirm your items have been picked up. This step is important as it helps us determine who to contact if there are any items left at the end of the day.
Can I send someone else to pickup my shares?
Please refer to the list provided at the pick up location to see which shares you are supposed to pick up that day. Some add-on items are delivered every other week, such as cheese or yogurt, while others like fruit, and flowers are delivered every week which is why it is important to double-check the list. Below you can see the boxes that each type of share will be delivered in (there should also be a picture provided at each pickup location)
